Wide-Area Larval Mosquito Treatment Scheduled in Riverside
Northwest Mosquito and Vector Control District (the District) will conduct a Wide-Area Larval Mosquito Treatment in the City of Riverside on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The treatment is scheduled between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. in the area south of Lochmoor Dr. and west of Sycamore Canyon Blvd. Please see the accompanying map for specific treatment boundaries.
The District will use VectoBac WDG (EPA Reg. No. 73049-56), a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-registered larvicide used to control mosquitoes during the immature, aquatic stages of their life cycle. This treatment targets mosquito larvae before they develop into flying, biting adults.
This treatment is part of the District’s Integrated Vector Management efforts to reduce mosquito populations and protect public health. Signs have been posted throughout the treatment area as of September 1, 2026, to notify residents of the planned treatment.

For questions or concerns, please contact the District at 951-340-9792.
